Prix Möbius Nordica - background

Prix Möbius was created in France in 1992, initiated by Paris 8th University. The competition became international in 1998, and in 2003 already 11 countries participated.
Prix Möbius International is a quality competition that focuses on cultural productions and products. Partners include UNESCO, CNRS and the European Union.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Prix Möbius Innovation
  • Prix Möbius Interactive Storytelling
  • Prix Möbius Creation

The jury may also give the following awards:

  • Grand Prix (main award)
  • Prix Special du Jury (special award of the jury)

Finland was invited to the competition in 2000 as the first Nordic country. A wide international interest exists for Finnish content production, especially network (Internet and wireless) expertise, but due to insufficient distribution and marketing the Finnish productions are not well known. The purpose of the competition is to encourage new media content production and constantly raise the quality of products in this sector. The competition offers an excellent opportunity to deliver information about the productions as well as advance their international distribution.

In 2002 Prix Möbius Finlande turned into Prix Möbius Nordica, and participants from all the Nordic countries were invited to join.

In 2007 Prix Möbius Nordica invites the Baltic countries Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia to join.
