PRIX MÖBIUS NORDICA 2005 WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The winners of Prix Möbius Nordica 2005 competition were announced on January 25th 2005.
The Prix Möbius Nordica competition aims at promoting creativity and innovation especially in the field of interactivity. High quality in aesthetic and technical realisation, the relation of the chosen expressional means to the content, and the target group were also meaningful criteria for the selection. We also took into consideration the status of the work in the context of already published productions in the same area, and the potential for international distribution.
The winners of the Prix Möbius Nordica will participate in the international competition PRIX MÖBIUS INTERNATIONAL in France on the Ile de la Réunion, in March 2005.

Timedreams:
Miikka Poutiainen‚s interactive web-based art project, Timedreams, deals
with one of the central dilemma‚s of modern existence; people‚s basic
problem in dealing with use of time and how to prioritise things in
everyday life. The complex but coherent web site was considered by the jury to possess high artistic values, a playful mixture of visual richness and technical virtuosity. Throughout the various levels of the work the visitor is encouraged to take part in playful interaction which results in a personal profile of one‚s relationship to time and to the inevitable process of aging and death. The system behind the work also collects personal profiles and allows comparison of attitudes between individuals in different regions of the world. Timedreams is Miika Poutianen‚s final degree work at the Media Lab, University of Art and Design, Helsinki.
