| | Prix Möbius Nordica 2003
Prix Möbius Finlande turns into Prix Möbius Nordica. All Nordic Countries are invited to participate to the competition.
This year, the international interactive media culture competition Prix Möbius Nordica has received 44 entries, out of which 3 are from Denmark, 31 from Finland, 2 from Iceland, 4 from Norway and 3 from Sweden. This is a good beginning, the expansion of the competition to all Nordic Countries being so recent, and hopefully there will be more and more participation from all these countries in the future.
The competition will be held on Saturday 25.01.2003 in the Media Centre LUME in Helsinki.
The final competition Prix Möbius International will be organized in Athenes, Greece in September 2003.
The competition is open for interactive culture-oriented productions, products or works that have been published or completed during year 2002, and whose authors live and work in the Nordic countries.
Possible formats of the productions and works are for example CD ROM, DVD, Internet, or wireless network. The organizers also welcome productions utilizing new platforms (e.g. digital television) or new genres (e.g. virtual communities and software art). The works should meet high standards of content production as to their content, audiovisual appearance and (interface)design, as well as general technical competence. Company presentations, or presentations of the use of technical platforms are not included in the competition.
The aims of PRIX MÖBIUS NORDICA are:
- to support Nordic media culture production and advance its international recognition
- to create networks for actors in the area (authors, producers, publishers) as well as researchers and students
- to clarify quality standards and give a general picture of the status and development of new media culture
- to advance the completion and distribution of productions and works
