ArtGenda is a biennial of young artists from the Baltic Sea area that was held in Helsinki in May 2000. The web site was a dynamic visualization of all collected information, a fictitious city portraying the artists as anarchists and the visitor as an agent trying to stop the event.

Collagerator: a 3 layered image

Collagerator / Tomi Knuutila (CD-ROM)
Collagerator invites the users to build 3- layered collages on the computer screen by playing with an image database. The first layer of imagery consists of media images. On the second layer are line drawings depicting mostly scientific, biological, anatomical, art historical motives, together with abstract 2-d shapes. The third layer crops or frames the visible area and adds effects to the image, distorting and colorizing it.

Birthday Party 2.3.1853Multimedia for the National museum / Media Lab
Hyper encyclopedias "19th Century" and "Prehistory", advanced programme "Birthday Party 2.3.1853" (three out of four produced titles). The work consists of designing the overall multimedia concept for the Museum. The main design issues related to finding a balance between the informative and the experimental in the programmes, as well as providing context for the object presented in the exhibition.

"Scanning a Bos taurus" is an educational program for veterinarians and students used already at universities in six countries. Providing an abundant video documentation, this program teaches how to interpret ultrasound pictures and make a diagnosis about the pregnancy of a cow. An early diagnosis is important for the modern management of dairy cattle. A cow should be pregnant every year. If the period between the calving and a new pregnancy is too long the milk production will decrease.
